TJC revisited!

Went back TJ to visit my teachers this afternoon. There's now a new air-conditioned TJC bus on campus for students to lounge in. How cool is that? But when I passed by the revamped ex-SBS bus, there were no one inside. The students were probably mugging away for their exams. Haha.

Though I met most of my teachers/friends I made during my relief teaching stint today, I didn't manage to find Ms Goh as she was not in her office. Guess I'll return back to TJ again to look for her before I head back to London. :)

By the way, I received good news today that my attachment on 6 September is scrapped! Hehe.. Means that I will have an additional free day. *Grins*

Gals' Nite out @ St James Powerhouse

My gal pals and I met up at Vivocity for the first time for dinner followed by going to St James Powerstation last Wednesday. It was ladies nite and there were 5 free drinks for each of us. Can you believe that I didn't spend a single cent there?

It was almost impossible to finish five drinks for the short amount of time we spent there. We reached there at 9pm but basically left the place at 10.30pm when the crowd was not even around. Haha.. And, what a bunch of sua-kus we were. We didn't even know how to get around the place. Haha. Thank god no smoking was allowed. The air was much easier to breathe.

Counting game

Count the number of passes made by the white team. Very few people would get the correct answer. Try it!

Will you?

I had goosebumps while watching this year's national day song MTV, Will you? It's gross. I mean the MTV, not the song. The song's ok but that one particular guy in suit singing the MTV is making the whole MTV unwatchable. I really had goosebumps watching him swagger with his exaggerated ah beng hand movements. Eeks.

Monday blues...

Why are my Monday blues always accompanied by bad hair days? Argh...

On a side note, do you know where's the new in and happenin' place where Channel 8 Mediacorp artistes hang out? They are Square Squared and Velocity at Novena. Spotted three Mediacorp artistes during lunch today. Meiqi first spotted 唐育书 and his wife 曾诗梅 in a restaurant, while Allan later recognised "Lynn" as she walked past him to a nearby MPH bookstore. (Lynn is 郭蕙雯's stage name in the current Channel 8 drama serial screening at 7pm). So lucky right? Haha...

And guess what, I discovered and drove past a little road in Singapore called Piccadilly Circus during my attachment today. It's in a rather ulu place somewhere in the north though. Amazing.

More places I want to go this summer break!

Sentosa
Marina Square
TigerLIVE at St James Power Station (open daily from 10am to 8pm, $18 per adult includes a beer and Tiger beer souvenir)

Anyone with other interesting ideas?

Which Tarot card am I?

Saw this on Irene's blog and decided to try it out for fun. Hehe..

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born.

This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

In the year 2020...

The ang gu kueys on TV are making me drool now. The TV somehow influences my appetite. Haha.

Anyway, I'm glad that my prayers are answered. I now have an interesting book to read, The Art of Innovation. Hope I'll get some insights into the future after finishing the book :)

Irony

I hate spending idle days but yet wish for them whenever I am busy or tired. Given a choice, I would rather spend a busy day doing activities that I enjoy than station myself in front of a PC or TV. I think I'll need to make my schedule tighter and make my time better spent.

Mid-week blues

Tired and hungry, hungry and tired. That's what will happen if 我吃不饱又睡不好。Hope I'll get over it by tomorrow.

A bag of lazy bones

Haven't been exercising for some time... I can't find any excuse not to exercise especially after seeing how Darren continually worked out during the chalet. He went for a run at ECP while waiting for the rest to arrive, did crunches on the mattress, did hand-grips, swam etc. Only then I realise, it's not the time that I couldn't afford, it's my determination and willpower, or rather, the lack of it.

Boring Sunday

Have been feeling queasy since after breakfast today. Probably had something non-vegetarian by accident this morning. Went to have some thosai at a coffeshop with my family after which my body felt "weird". It's not exactly uncomfortable but it's definitely not right. Maybe I shouldn't eat thosai anymore :P

Jiayi and Yaohao's birthday celebration at Tiong Bahru!

Tiong Bahru, defined as the "most west" underground MRT station in Singapore by Yaohao, was THE dinner place for the two birthday boys' celebration.
